Greetings Depth Psych Friends,
Bright fall sunlight caresses my window as I sit this November morning, beckoning me to wander into the garden and observe the flora in various states of growth, decline, and decay. I am wholly conscious in this moment of the cycles of nature and of life, and feel tendrils of nostalgia at the things that have gone by the wayside this year. In particular, the passing of James Hillman is very moving--bringing both grief at his loss as well as gratitude at the thought of the vast web of knowledge he wove while in this lifetime.
All of it seems so poignant, and yet even in the throes of despair I see what's here, now. Hillman's "Revisioning Psychology" sits under my right elbow, dog-eared, page corners turned down throughout, yellow highlighting on almost every page accenting wisdom. New green shoots are already pushing up through the brown earth alongside the mums out my window, and my cat, Truman, nudges me and purrs softly at my feet. The cycles of life go on. The lifeforce which underlies the web of all things thrums with vibrant potentiality.
Wishing you each joy and abundance in whatever ways it shows up for you at this time. Thanks for your presence in this wonderful community. Don't forget to check in and see what's new and share some moments with each other now and in coming days.
In soul,
Bonnie Bright, Founder

The persistence of an inner nudging, that gnawing feeling compelling us to action, the message hidden in a dream that we find ourselves preoccupied with upon waking; these each speak to us about the beckoning of what Jung speaks of as the "numinous" and of a world far greater than anything we can grasp with our prevailing conscious attitudes. The language of the dream is a symbolic one - where images tell the stories of transcendence, the need to change, and those influences which hold us back from the realization of our destiny. More details.
Red Book X: Four-Week Teleseminar Series with Dr. Michael Conforti: The Primacy of the Self, The Emergence of Psyche & Spirit
Through his encounters with Salome and Elijah, Jung came to see the reality of a domain of psychic life that far exceeded anything that existed in consciousness. In seeing the limitations of his own personal beliefs and biases, he came face to face with a wisdom - an eternal wisdom - contained within the psyche. He later understood this to be the workings of archetypes, the collective unconscious, and the Self. More details.
